hair thinning & hair loss

Our hair is our crown and glory and experiencing hair loss and hair thinning is not easy for anyone.

Just like our skin, our hair will let us know of an internal issue by becoming dry, brittle, dull, and excessively shedding. Most women experience hair thinning at least once during their lifetime.

Our search begins and we read through dozens of different reasons in addition to coming across quick fixes like topical Minoxidil, lasers, prescription medications, platelet-rich plasma, and microneedling. Still…uncertainty and confusion filling the air as we desperately try to find a reason that resonates.

Let’s get into it.

Mystery hair thinning and hair loss are symptomatic of Epstein-Barr Virus’s (EBV) damaging presence.

It’s not low production of thyroid hormones that causes clumps of hair to fall out— it’s excess adrenaline and cortisol.

Our adrenal glands produce important hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which are essential for mounting an effective response to stress. Adrenaline from emotional events and life stressors can have a major impact on the health of your hair.

When you experience a painful situation, adrenaline floods the system, affecting the liver, skin, and hair. In a constant state of the body producing stress chemicals, hair thinning and hair loss are prone to happen.

Under stress, your hair may develop a straw-like texture and fall out. The effects of stress aren’t always immediate and you can see changes in your hair happen months down the road. Breakups, childbirth, and other hardships are an example. The best thing you can do is provide your body with the nourishment and support it needs.

One of the best things you can do is support your adrenals, because their health helps determine the health of your hair.

If your symptoms are not virus and stress related, common factors of hair loss are the use of thyroid medication, antibiotics, or other pharmaceuticals including birth control.
